The Differences Between B2B and B2C Marketing Strategies

There is a difference in strategy when it comes to marketing to business and marketing to a consumer. Although you are ultimately still selling a product or service to a person, experience shows that there’s a distinct difference between how these two audiences absorb their marketing and advertising information. However, occasionally some tactics will work for both audiences.

The cost of a sale for the business-to-business market is, typically, more expensive and higher than the business to consumer market. Because of this, more people tend to be involved, requiring more decision makers and therefore a business-to-business transaction often takes more time to complete.

When it comes to B2C, their decision is more emotional. Consumers are less likely to be interested in lengthy marketing messages and instead, they will want you to point out the benefits to them quickly and clearly.

This infographic shares the marketing strategies that work for both B2B and B2C businesses.
